Woodditton Apple Press
The apple press is ready for use!  After a long summer break, and with apple trees throughout the Parish fully loaded with sweet apples, it’s pressing time again...
Further details will be posted here in the News section.  For more information on the apple press, including how to gain access to it and village pressing times (usually Sundays at about 1 - 2pm ish), please contact Chris Winch on 01638 730077 or 07963 467 960.  The press in located in the “chicken paddock” on Ditton Green, close to the sharp bends in the road (try using postcode CB8 9SQ for a rough location).
Please note that the apple press is located in a private field, and access must be granted from Chris.
I am aiming to post some details on cider making and some pictures of the pressing in due course.  If anyone has any apply recipes that they’d like to share, please feel free to send them to webmaster!
Woodditton Harvest Supper

The annual Woodditton Harvest Supper took place on the 15th October, 2010.  Organised by the PCC members and held  at Parsonage Farm owing to the usual generous hosting of Simon & Mary Taylor.

About 45 persons attended and an excellent meal was provided thanks to the voluntary efforts of the ladies.

Entertainment was organized by Dr Tony White and Simon Gale.

The Revd. Ann Gurner was also present and she brought along two guests from Uganda, one of whom spoke about the health problems in his country caused by polluted drinking water in his and what is being done to improve sanitation in the villages. They are grateful for the help that our Church is giving.

The excellent sum of £550 was raised for Church funds.
